Acrylic is one of the two primary materials used to produce Aquatica bathtubs.
Acrylic is a by-product of the US Space program and is known to be one of the most versatile and successful materials in history. It is highly resistant to wear and tear, easy to clean and hygienic.
With an elastic structure, it is resistant to impact and deformation, and any scratches to the surface can be easily polished out. Acrylic products are always bright in color, as the pigments disperse homogeneously, retaining their reinforcement and elegance for a lifetime.
Aquatica uses acrylic sheets from Lucite International UK - one of the world's leading manufacturers of acrylic, whose products meet our stringent quality standards.
Acrylic sheets are guaranteed to resist abrasion in line with a ten-year aging test.
Optional and very unique matte VelveX™ finish provides a refined look - opaque, compact, yet smooth to the touch like the velvet from which it takes its name. Retaining all of the high performing characteristics of standard Lucite® cast acrylic, the matte VelveX™ surface is easy to clean, hypoallergenic with non-toxic, luxuriously smooth and warm to touch surface that guarantees a high standard of hygiene. It is resistant to impact, to abrasion and to UV rays, which is an essential requirement for the long lasting brilliance of the color.
Aquatica’s acrylic bathtubs have a homogenous, high-gloss finish, which naturally protects the bath surface from the threat of uninhibited bacteria growth.
The manufacturing of acrylic tubs with our AquaHygiene™ technology provides a continuous hygienic environment by preventing bacteria, and, with regular cleaning, remain unblemished and shiny for many years.
